My research largely falls in one of three areas. My political economy work focuses on the welfare state and compulsory voting rules, while my work in entrepreneurship combines the notion of 鈥渞adical uncertainty鈥 with recent economic theory on social institutions. Several of my industrial organization/applied microeconomics projects were developed with students and these include analyses of the sports, alcohol, tourism and education industries. I have also published some pedagogical work.

My teaching has included Microeconomic Principles, Political Economy, Law and Economics, Public Finance/Public Policy, Applied/Intermediate Microeconomics, Entrepreneurship, Mathematical Microeconomics, Economics and Literature and Research Methods. I have also received university awards for Excellence and Innovation in Undergraduate Advising and Excellence and Innovation in Undergraduate Teaching.

I enjoy boating/sailing, traveling, and music. Don鈥檛 tell my students, but I also like to spend as much time as I can outdoors camping.
