Â鶹ŮÀÉ’s was recently named a “First Forward Institutionâ€ by The Center for First-generation Student Success, an initiative of NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and The Suder Foundation.

The Office of First-Generation Student Success serves as a referral hub to the various services that exist to inspire and assist first-generation students at Â鶹ŮÀÉ, including academic support, advising, financial assistance and scholarships, mentorship, and the “First and Proudâ€ registered student organization.

“Â鶹ŮÀÉ is dedicated to creating a brighter future for talented first-generation students,â€ said . “Failure to do so puts us at risk of losing many of our most gifted high school graduates.â€

The First Forward designation recognizes institutions of higher education who have demonstrated a commitment to improving experiences and advancing outcomes of first-generation college students. Selected institutions receive professional development, community-building experiences, and a first look at the Center’s research and resources.Ìý
