Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion

The Department of Exercise Science & Health Promotion (ESHP) emphasizes technology-based instruction to improve critical thinking skills necessary for health-related professions while publishing molecular and behavioral-based research that informs lifestyle choices to reduce the occurrence and severity of chronic disease. Students pursuing the online M.S. program are enrolled in a concentration in Exercise Physiology or Health Promotion.

About This Degree

The program is 30-credits and can be completed in as little as one year! It is designed to prepare students for continued research and doctoral studies or advanced careers in athletic, corporate, private, clinical, and/or community physical fitness and health promotion settings.

Concentrations

Health Promotion

This program would be appropriate for students with any combination of interests in behavioral and preventative health, wellness, and allied health. Health promotion students learn how to approach, modify and monitor human behavior which influences poor health habits so that negative health outcomes can be prevented or remedied. Students also learn how to create, plan, implement, and evaluate large-scale health interventions on the corporate, community, and national level. Those who take health promotion-based core and elective courses may be eligible to take the Certifited Health Education Specialist (CHES) exam

Exercise Physiology

The Exercise Physiology concentration coursework is now offered fully online, and is only 30 Credit Hours. The program鈥檚 online offerings have allowed for maximum flexibility among students with the ability to take courses that fit one鈥檚 schedule. The innovative curriculum for the courses in this program were custom designed in collaboration with 麻豆女郎鈥檚 Center for Online and Continuing Education and have received the distinction of 鈥淗igh-Quality.鈥�

This 30-credit hour program can be completed in 12-18 months.
