Welcome to the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology. Our work responds to the technological, social, political, economic, and environmental forces shaping education today while preparing leaders for the future. As educators, scholars, and leaders, we prepare individuals to think critically, lead ethically, conduct meaningful research, and create educational opportunities that are equitable, innovative, and impactful.
Our graduate programs prepare educational leaders, researchers, and scholar-practitioners to strengthen schools, colleges, universities, and organizations through ethical, evidence-informed leadership and scholarship. Our undergraduate leadership development opportunities cultivate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that empower students to lead with purpose across professions and communities.
What distinguishes our department is our commitment to collaboration and mentorship. Together, faculty, staff, and students foster a culture of inquiry, collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning—one that values both academic excellence and the relationships that make learning meaningful. Through partnerships with P–12 schools, higher education institutions, community organizations, and professional associations, we connect research with practice to improve educational outcomes.
