Welcome to the Professional English Language Support Program
The Professional English Language Support (PELS)鈥檚 mission is to provide resources and instruction to help all students, including domestic and international multilingual and multidialectal students, attain their academic and professional goals by enhancing their writing and speaking skills and to provide faculty with support specific to teaching professional English writing.听
The PELS Program offers free 10-week courses, workshops, support materials, and faculty engagement.
PELS:
- Values听all students in our diverse community and establishes points of contact across cultures
- Serves听the professional and academic needs of graduate and undergraduate students across different fields of study
- Prepares听students to be valuable members of the workforce and larger society
- Promotes听critical language awareness听
- Supports听faculty in teaching and responding to the needs of all students, including multilingual and multidialectal students
