Â鶹ŮÀÉ's (Â鶹ŮÀÉ) new Environment Initiative, housed in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science, unifies the transdisciplinary efforts of a vibrant and growing community of Â鶹ŮÀÉ scholar-educators in this multi-disciplinary field of research. This coordinated group of environmental faculty and students spans multiple Â鶹ŮÀÉ departments, centers, institutes, and colleges, who align for stronger education and research efforts and opportunities related to environmental science, coastal resilience, and climate change.

Health Initiative
In alignment with Â鶹ŮÀÉ’s (Â鶹ŮÀÉ) Strategic Plan and the newly announced Â鶹ŮÀÉ Health Network, the Charles E. Schmidt College Health Intitiative aims to protect and improve human health as one of our strategic areas of research interest. Health related research in the Schmidt College of Science reflects a diverse range of interests and expertise that align with existing strengths and priority areas of the University and region. As such, our research interests represent an inclusive sphere of interdisciplinary themes focused on neuroscience, cancer, obesity, healthy aging, physiology, inflammation, infectious diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, biophysics, and drug discovery. Schmidt College of Science faculty can rely on a well-managed infrastructure to support their research efforts.

This group of faculty and students spans multiple Â鶹ŮÀÉ departments, centers, institutes, and colleges, who align for stronger education and research efforts and opportunities related to data science, cryptography and information security, neuroscience, complex systems, and computational science.
