Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) bring together degree-seeking students from all academic levels—first-years to Ph.D. candidates—into multidisciplinary research teams. Guided by faculty from diverse fields, you'll tackle real-world challenges while earning course credit, gaining hands-on experience, and developing leadership and mentorship skills.

Students involved in a VIP team get course credits for research work. They are expected to participate in their team for a minimum of two semesters, which gives them an opportunity to develop as leaders and mentors within the project specialties.

Requirements:

  • Multi-semester research commitment to team
  • Enroll in VIP DIR sections for semesters you are on team
  • Complete peer and mentor evaluations each semester you are part of team
  • Complete AI and Data Science and Research and Inquiry Skills literacy assessments at beginning and end of each semester you are on VIP Team
