Association for Women in Science at Â鶹ŮÀÉ
is the largest multi-disciplinary organization for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). AWIS is dedicated to driving excellence in STEM by achieving full equity and full participation of women in all disciplines and across all employment sectors.
Members of the community with an Â鶹ŮÀÉ email address, Faculty, Student and Staff, of any gender and with any motive, benefiting or supporting Women in Science, .
In 2014, faculty at Â鶹ŮÀÉ established the AWIS Affiliate Group. The Mission and Goals of the Â鶹ŮÀÉ AWIS Affiliate Group are defined as follows:
- To promote diversity amongst faculty, staff and students with respect to gender, race and ethnic background;
- To promote women in careers in which they are underrepresented, especially in STEM and STEM-related areas; and
- To investigate funding opportunities and initiate activities to accelerate the accomplishment of the above goals at Â鶹ŮÀÉ.
